CORRECTION UNDERWAY FOR POTS-ONLY/TECH-PLAN GLITCH
The Schools and Libraries Corporation recently released this statement to address a minor glitch with the SLC web site. It applies to those entities seeking discounts on basic phone service ONLY. We were informed of this problem by several PA libraries and passed it along to the SLC. If you know of any other such problems, please don't hesitate to contact me.

"There is an anomaly in the Form 470 electronic application system that requires schools and libraries requesting ONLY basic telephone service (also known as *Plain Old Telephone Service,* or POTS) to indicate the status of their technology plan, even though a tech plan is not required for such service.
While this system problem is being corrected, applicants filing electronically who check the box on Line 18 that indicates basic telephone service only should ALSO check Line 23, Item (a), *Technology plan(s) has/have been approved,* so that their application will be accepted by the system. In reviewing these electronic applications, the SLC will note the basic telephone service designation on Line 18 and take no further action on Line 23.
Schools and libraries filing Form 470 applications on paper should follow application instructions as given on the forms."
