E-rate Update - Summer Contact Data Base Available
Message Posted July 1, 1998

The SLC has just released the following notice announcing their new data base for E-rate applicants who will be unavailable at their previously listed addresses, phone and fax numbers. We understand that both their problem resolution teams and program integrity teams are continuing to make thousands of calls to process applications.

URGENT! HELP SLC FIND YOU THIS SUMMER *
USE OUR NEW SUMMER CONTACT INFORMATION DATA BASE
As we move ahead with processing Form 471 applications, the Schools and Libraries Corp. (SLC) will need to contact applicants over the coming weeks regarding their applications. Since it is critical that SLC be able to reach applicants during the summer, we are launching a quick and easy Summer Contact Information data base to collect alternate contact information.

If you will be unreachable via the modes of contact listed on your Form 471 during some or all of the summer, PLEASE use this new Summer Contact Information data base to let SLC know how to find you. Simply log on to the SLC Web Site and go to the What's New! area. Click on the Summer Contact Information link and type in the requested information.

A summer mailing address is required, and you will also have the option of providing a summer phone number, fax number, and/or e-mail address. If you have received one or more Problem Resolution faxes, please have them handy so you can enter their Control Numbers as part of the requested data.

SLC's application review staff, including our Program Integrity Assurance team, will refer to this data base regularly as they reach out to applicants for additional information and documentation.

Applicants without Web access can provide their summer contact data via our toll-free help line, 888-203-8100.

All applicants are asked to spread the word about the Summer Contact Information data base with their colleagues, particularly those who may already be away for the summer.

Your help in keeping communication flowing over the summer is greatly appreciated.
