PDE Posts E-rate Implementation Survey for Vendors
Message Posted November 16, 1998
As you know, Funding Commitment Letters for the E-rate, Universal Service Program are due to be mailed over the next several weeks to schools and
libraries who submitted applications during the initial 75-day window. With this milestone comes many important questions from schools and libraries concerning how their service providers intend to proceed with the upcoming discount implementation and reimbursement process.
As the result of suggestions from schools and libraries during the recent regional Link-to-Learn E-rate implementation workshops, and in order to
simplify communication between schools/libraries and their service providers, the Pennsylvania Department of Education's Office of Educational
Technology has created an online service provider survey on the PA E-rate web site.
Responses to the survey also will be posted on the web site for easy viewing by Pennsylvania's schools and libraries. By posting this information publicly,
we hope to avoid confusion and duplicative phone calls when Funding Commitment Letters begin to be mailed.
Please use this site as a resource tool after you receive your E-rate Funding Commitment Letters. In the meantime, be sure your service provider
has completed the survey by checking the Vendor Survey Responses. If not, we would appreciate your assistance in contacting your service provider to
announce the online survey.
If concerning the survey, please contact Julie Tritt in the Office of Educational Technology at (717) 705-4486.
Thank you for your time and cooperation as we try to make the upcoming months proceed as smooth as possible for all participants in the E-rate
program.
