SLD Reverts to Old Online 471
Message Posted November 18, 2002

Year 5, Wave 16 Funding Commitments Mailed

Congratulations to the following 7 Pennsylvania schools and libraries that
will be receiving Year 5 (Funding Year 2002-2003), Wave 16 E-rate Funding
Commitment Letters, totaling $407,456.06. A summary of each commitment is
listed below, and detailed information will be posted on the SLD web site
under Funding Commitments: http://www.sl.universalservice.org/funding/.
This wave still just contains internal connections for 90% applicants (in
addition to priority 1 services). No decisions have been made yet on
funding requests for 80-89% discount requests.

* The next step is to file the Form 486 which tells the SLD 3 things:
1) that the SLD is authorized to pay invoices (either BEAR or SPIFs)
2) that your technology plan has been approved (by a SLD-certified
approver)
3) that you were CIPA compliant as of July 1, 2002.
THIS FORM MUST BE POSTMARKED WITHIN 120 DAYS OF THE DATE ON THE FUNDING
COMMITMENT LETTER.

If your funding request is still outstanding, you can check the
status of your application by accessing the SLD's web site at
http://www.sl.universalservice.org/menu.asp and clicking on "Apply Online,"
then "Application Status" under the Form 471 column. You will need to
provide your Billed Entity number and the Funding Year you wish to review.
