Year 6 Window Extended - 470s Remain to be Posted for PA Entities

Year 6 E-rate Window Extended
The SLD has just announced that the Year 6 Form 471 Filing Window has been extended until Thursday, February 6, primarily due to the major difficulties that applicants faced when trying to file 471s during the first two weeks of the window in November.
This technically makes the last day to file a 470 about Jan. 8, although you should wait no longer than December 18 so you can have your 470 posted (and your 28 day waiting period ticking) during the holidays.
This also should come as a great relief to the 173 PA School Districts, 4 IUs, 47 AVTS (listed below) and most Charter Schools that have not yet filed a 470 for Year 6. Yes, there is a remote chance that your name is on this list, but you don't need to file a 470. But that's only if you have multi-year contracts for ALL of your E-rate eligible services (and very few schools do) or if someone else is your billed entity (as is the case for some AVTS). If you are in a consortium with your IU for Internet Access and your name is listed, that's because you haven't posted a 470 for your own local services such as local and long distance phone service.
If your school's name is on the list but you are not the E-rate contact, I strongly urge you to designate or find the E-rate contact for your district so that your forms can get submitted on time. As you know, many formula and competitive grants are requiring E-rate application as a prerequisite.
