Happy New Year to all Pennsylvania E-rate Gurus!
I am pleased to report that only 12 Pennsylvania School Districts have not
filed their Form 470s for Year 8 (this is compared to 84 districts from the
same time last year.) If you are one of the 12 Districts, please be sure to
file the Form 470 in the next few days. If your district's name is not on
the list, but you know someone who works in one of the listed districts,
please call and encourage them to submit their form.
There is a chance that a district's name is in error, because a district may
have existing contracts for all E-rate eligible services from previous years
(and the 470 was posted in a previous year). If this the case with your
district, please contact me so I can take you off this list.
The final deadline to post a Year 8 Form 470 is Wednesday, January 18.
Important Reminder: An appeal from a PA school district recently was denied
at the FCC because the person who signed the form dated it as '03' instead
of '04.' The district argued that all contracts were signed correctly, the
correct form was used, etc, but still, the FCC denied the appeal saying that
the applicant MUST use the correct signing date. I mention this to ALL PA
applicants as you sign your forms and mail them to the SLD, please double
check to make certain that the signing date says '2005.'
