3 Important E-rate Reminders for This Week

1) Form 472 BEAR for Year 7 (2004-2005) Deadline 10/28/2005
Tomorrow (October 28, 2005) is the deadline to have your Year 7 (July 1, 2004 - June 30, 2005) BEAR Forms postmarked for recurring services. * If you realize that your service provider is different than what was listed on your funding commitment letter, file a SPIN change by tomorrow. The SLD will grant it, and then you will have an additional 120 days to file your new BEAR. Instructions for submitting a SPIN change can be found at: http://www.sl.universalservice.org/reference/OperationalSpin.asp (use the fax or e-mail filing option).
* If you realize that you have run out of time, file for an Invoice (BEAR) Deadline Extension. Instructions for requesting an extension can be found at: http://www.sl.universalservice.org/reference/InvoicingDeadlines.asp (again, use the fax or e-mail filing option). Be sure to provide a reason that is consistent with one of the permissible reasons listed in their guidance.
2) Form 486 for Wave 1 Deadline 10/31/2005
For applicants funded in Year 8, Wave 1, the deadline to submit your 486 is Monday, October 31, 2005. If you were funded in a later wave, count 120 days from the date on your funding commitment decision letter and that will give you the date that your Form 486 is due. You may include ALL of your funding requests on the same form; there is no need to file a separate 486 for each FRN. 3) E-rate for Veterans Training Videoconference 10/28/2005
Don't forget, the E-rate training for veterans, being conducted via a 27-site videoconference, is tomorrow, Oct. 28, from 10 a.m. - noon (registration begins at 9:30 a.m.). If you haven't done so already, register at: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.asp?u=958031325010 for the location nearest you that isn't full. A copy of the PowerPoint presentation is already posted on the web at: http://www.e-ratepa.org/training_outreach.htm.
