SLD Announces E-rate Training Dates

Although I will be scheduling E-rate training in Pennsylvania during the month of October, I wanted to let you know that the SLD is holding a one-day training session in the Washington, DC area on September 22 at the Marriott Bethesda North Hotel & Conference Center (in Bethesda, MD). Registration on the SLD website (www.usac.org/sl) just opened and will only accommodate 175 registrants (so if you would like to attend, register this morning). Negotiated prices for hotel rooms also are listed on the SLD website.

The comprehensive agenda has not yet been released, but during this year's training, the SLD will offer breakout sessions during the morning and afternoon and you will have to select which you intend to attend when you register. The breakout sessions include:

Beginners Track: covers basic program concepts.

Special Topics Track: covers targeted issues such as audits, CIPA compliance, and contracts.

Advanced Track: covers more complex program concepts such as consortia, large procurements, and complicated eligible service issues.
Although they are offering a beginner's track, it's been my experience that if you are truly a beginner, you may want to wait and register for one of my PA E-rate trainings for beginners, which will be announced in August.
