Year 12 (2009-2010), Wave 30 E-rate Funding Committed!

~ P2 Funded to Down 80%; May Go Lower ~

Congratulations to the following 22 Pennsylvania schools and libraries that will be receiving Year 12, Wave 30 E-rate Funding Commitment Letters, totaling $1,038,381.47. A summary of each commitment is listed below. All Year 12 correspondence will be sent in YELLOW.

A wave will be arriving every week until the Year 12 funding is exhausted. This wave consists of requests for Priority 1 services (telecom and Internet) and Priority 2 (internal connections and basic maintenance). There are many, many more waves coming, and your commitment will be in one of the upcoming waves.

* Please note that the Priority 2 funding has reached 80% beginning with this wave, and there are indications it may go lower in the coming months. This is unusual because P2 funding typically ends in the 84-86% range. The FCC rolled over nearly $1 billion earlier this year which is likely the reason that funding to lower discount-levels is possible.

The next step for those entities funded in Waves 1-30 will be to file the Form 486 which tells the SLD it's OK to pay invoices, who approved your technology plan, and that you are CIPA compliant. The Online Form 486 for FY 2009 is available at http://www.slforms.universalservice.org/Form486exp/SearchEntity.aspx. And because the funding year has begun, there is no requirement to check 6A on the form which indicated early filing.
