SLD Announces E-rate Training Dates - Register Now

Although E-rate training will be held in Pennsylvania during the month of October and November, I wanted to let you know that the SLD has just announced a one-day training session in Washington, DC on September 30, 2010 at the Georgetown University Hotel and Conference Center. Registration on the SLD website (http://www.usac.org/sl/about/training-sessions/training-2010/fall/washington-dc-training.aspx) just opened and will only accommodate 200 registrants (so if you would like to attend, register soon). Negotiated prices for hotel rooms also are listed on the SLD website.
The comprehensive agenda has not yet been released, but the USAC website states the training will cover general E-rate topics and participants will have opportunities to meet USAC staff and discuss the challenges schools and libraries face when applying for E-rate funding. Although they usually offer a beginner's track, it's been my experience that if you are truly a beginner, you may want to wait and register for one of the PA E-rate trainings for beginners, which will be announced in August.
