Register Now for Upcoming E-rate Trainings
October 16, 2012
Over the last several weeks, several E-rate trainings have been announced. The purpose of this message is to summarize those trainings and encourage applicants who haven't yet registered to do so as soon as possible (especially for the in-person regional trainings so enough lunches and materials can be ordered for each location).

E-rate Tech Plan & Comprehensive Planning Webinar
October 25: 10 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
Register at: HTTPS://WWW.SURVEYMONKEY.COM/S/TECHPLANNING_IN_CPP
If you are a public school, and if you will be applying for E-rate discounts on Priority 2 services/equipment, and if you are in Comprehensive Planning Phase 1, please plan to attend this webinar which will address how to use Pennsylvania’s new Comprehensive Planning Process to meet the E-rate technology plan requirements. Unlike eStrategic Planning, Comprehensive Planning does NOT provide a separate educational technology plan report; therefore, all of your technology-related activities must be addressed in your Comprehensive Plan. This webinar is designed to help you understand the differences between the two processes so that you can transition to Comprehensive Planning while still meeting federal E-rate requirements.
E-rate Beginners Training
9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
See below for dates/locations/registration
Due to the high numbers of school and library personnel new to the E-rate program, there will be three in-person, full-day regional training workshops presented in late October/early-November to assist new applicants. The training will contain details of current program rules, eligible services, CIPA, gift rules, bid evaluations, discount calculations, and each step and form of the program. Check-in will begin at 8:30 a.m., with the workshop running from 9 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Each training is identical and lunch will be provided. Also, each attendee will receive a comprehensive 3-inch E-rate Resource Manual that contains copies of the PowerPoint presentation, fact sheets, forms, sample letters, tips, etc. Seating is limited and you must register to attend (see below). There is no fee to attend, but you will be charged $50 if you cancel with less than 48 hours' notice.
