Statewide Telecommunications Contract Satellite Teleconference Coordinates

In an earlier e-mail, the Office of Educational Technology outlined details of the new Statewide Telecommunications
Contract and its implications for schools, libraries and local governments. (Visit http://www.L2L.org if you did not receive the original information.) Because we realize the existence of this new contract will raise numerous questions, the Office of Educational Technology has scheduled a free, statewide satellite teleconference on May 23 from 9:00 a.m. - noon.
Satellite receive coordinates are below.
If your entity is interested in being a public viewing downlink site, please e-mail Julie Tritt at jtritt@state.pa.us with the following information:
Name of Institution
Exact location of downlink viewing (library, conference room)
Name of Contact Person
Telephone of Contact Person
E-mail of Contact Person
Maximum capacity of viewing location
Should attendees notify the contact person if they will be attending?
Please know, however, that any school, library or local government entity is welcome to downlink or tape the broadcast without becoming a public viewing site.
The receive specifications are as follows:
Satellite: GE 2 (C-Band)
Transponder: 18
Polarization: Horizontal
Channel Number: 18
Downlink Frequency: 4060 MHz
Orbital Position: 85 degrees West Longitude
Audio Frequency: 6.2/6.8 Discrete Wide
Satellite Test: 8:30 a.m. May 23.
The uplink will be from WITF Harrisburg. Call (717) 221-2959 with technical difficulties. WITF strongly suggests a test of the satellite receive coordinates at least one week prior to the scheduled event. Technical contacts at the receive sites are encouraged to call WITF Uplink in advance of the day of air with any questions or concerns.
