Year 3: Wave 15 E-rate Funding Commitment Listed
Message Posted July 20, 2000
* One applicant funded *
* Waves now expected to continue through August *
Congratulations to the following Pennsylvania AVTS that will be receiving a Year 3, Wave 15 E-rate Funding Commitment Letter. It is the only Pennsylvania applicant to be funded this week in what appears to be a very small wave for most states.
Although 95% of all funding commitment letters have been mailed, only $1.1 billion of $2.25 billion has been committed, which means that there are still quite a few applicants that will be funded. The waves will continue through August, so don't panic if you haven't received your funding letter yet.
* The next step is to file a Form 486. The new form is now available on the SLD web site and
will be mailed separately to all funded applicants explaining the changes. All Year 3 applicants must use the new form 486.
It is very important that this form be filed as soon as it is available in order for discounts to begin on July 1, 2000.
* If you disagree with a funding commitment decision, an appeal letter
MUST be received at the SLD within 30 days of the date that is on the
decision letter (not the letter's postmark date). There are no exceptions
to this rule. If you find that your funding commitment letter does not
arrive in a timely manner, please let me know as soon as possible so I can
report this to the SLD.
