Phase-Out of E-rate Updates via Penn*Link
Message Posted November 29, 2000
Beginning on December 18, 2000, E-rate updates will no longer be delivered
to schools via Penn*Link; all updates will be sent using the existing PA
E-rate listserve.
When the E-rate program began more than three years ago, the E-rate
listserve was created, but updates were delivered to the Penn*Link list as
well because many school officials, including business managers and
superintendents, did not have access to a personal e-mail address. We
believe that almost all officials that have some responsibility for E-rate
also now have access to e-mail.
However, if your district relies solely on Penn*Link for E-rate updates and
key officials still do no have access to e-mail, you can send us your
Penn*Link e-mail address and we will subscribe that specific Penn*Link
e-mail address to the E-rate listserve. Further, if Penn*Link E-rate
updates are being forwarded to various individuals from the main Penn*Link
account, you should subscribe each recipient to the E-rate listserve.
To subscribe anyone in your district to the E-rate listserve, simply reply to
this e-mail (or e-mail jtritt@state.pa.us) and list the person's full name
and e-mail address.
Thank you for assisting us with this transition. If you have any questions,
contact Julie Tritt at (717) 705-4486 or jtritt@state.pa.us.
