Final Few Days to Post Year 7 470
~ 84 Districts in PA Haven't Filed, Listed Below ~

This is another reminder to School Districts, AVTS, and Charter Schools that these are the absolute final days to post an E-rate Form 470 and still have time to file a Form 471 before the February 4 deadline. We still have 84 Districts, many AVTSs and most of the charter schools that have yet to file Form 470's. The districts are listed below in alpha order, with the IU identified so you can identify your neighbors that haven't applied (give them a call!)
I will be sending out a final list of non-filers next Tuesday (January 6), so if you want your district's name off this list, you should file your 470 asap! (If you feel your district has been listed in error, please read *** below.)
The final deadline to post a Year 7 Form 470 is Wednesday, January 7. PLEASE DON'T WAIT UNTIL JAN 7 TO FILE, BECAUSE THAT WILL ONLY GIVE YOU ONE DAY (FEBRUARY 4) TO EVALUATE YOUR BID RESPONSES, SELECT VENDORS, SIGN CONTRACTS (IF ANY), AND COMPLETE AND SUBMIT YOUR 471.
At this late date, you must file online at the SLD's website (under Apply Online). I suggest using the 'Create Form 470' feature from the options. Please note: You can still file online even if you don't have a PIN. EVERYONE can and should file online... the PIN is just to allow you to certify your application online.
If you don't have a PIN, hit submit, then click on "Submit Paper Certification." Then print that page, sign, and mail it to the SLD. Your 28 day clock begins when you hit the submit button.
If your school's name is on the list but you are not the E-rate contact, I strongly urge you to designate or find the E-rate contact for your district so that your forms can get submitted on time. As you know, many formula and competitive grants are requiring E-rate application as a prerequisite.
*** (If your district posted a 470 and your name has been listed in error, please send me an e-mail so I can verify and remove you from the list. Also, there is a remote chance that your name is on this list because you don't need to file a 470 for Year 7. But that's only if you have multi-year contracts for ALL of your E-rate eligible services (and very few schools do) or if someone else is your billed entity (as is the case for some AVTS). If you are in a consortium with your IU for Internet Access and your name is listed, that's because you haven't posted a 470 for your own local services such as local and long distance phone service.)
