SLD Announces E-rate Training Dates

Although I will be scheduling E-rate training in Pennsylvania during the month of October, I wanted to let you know that the SLD is holding a 1.5 day training session in the Washington, DC area on September 11 and 12th at the Crystal Gateway Marriott (in Arlington, VA).  Registration on the SLD website (www.usac.org/sl) has opened and will only accommodate 250 registrants (so if you would like to attend, register this morning).  Negotiated prices for hotel rooms also are listed on the SLD website.

The purpose of the SLD training is to provide the latest program updates and guidance on how to successfully participate in the E-rate program.  The agenda is listed below.  Although it appears that they will have a brief beginners session on day one which is concurrent to an advanced session, it's been my experience that if you are truly a beginner, you may want to wait and register for one of my PA E-rate trainings for beginners, which will be announced in August.

The SLD will be holding identical trainings in various US cities, including Newark, through the end of October as follows

Seattle - September 16 - 17
Denver -- September 23 - 24
Chicago - October 2 - 3
Newark - October 6 - 7
Los Angeles - October 15 - 16
Atlanta - October 21 - 22

Agenda:

Day 1 - 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Concurrent Beginners and Advanced Sessions ( 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.)
On the morning of Day 1, there will be two concurrent training sessions—one for beginners (individuals with less than two years' experience in the program) and one for advanced program participants (two or more years' experience in the program)—focusing on topics relevant to each audience. To help us allocate meeting space appropriately, please indicate your preference on the training registration form when you register. However, you can change your mind on the day of the training.

Day 2 - 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Please note that all seven training sessions will cover the same information.
