Attached:\u00a0Internal Connections Bulk Upload Guide 2017 ~ Great Time Saver ~ When applying for E-rate funding for Internal Connections, the Form 471 requires every component to be listed on its own FRN Line Item, followed by a detailed listing of which entities will be using the equipment and how much funding should be allocated from their respective Category 2 budgets to pay for the equipment.\u00a0 Creating these FRNs can be time consuming, as many of you have discovered over the last two years.\u00a0 To help alleviate this burden, USAC has created off-line Templates that can be completed and then uploaded into the Funding Request instead of manually creating\/adding FRN Line Items.\u00a0 While Templates are available for all C1 and C2 service types, the Internal Connections Template is the one I believe will save PA applicants the most time and will be most-used.<\/p>\n To assist applicants with completing the Internal Connections Template and Bulk Upload process, I\u2019ve created the attached Guide which I strongly encourage you follow as you complete your first Template.\u00a0 There are two versions of the Template.\u00a0 The Windows 10, or Excel 2013 and newer Template is attached and also is posted on the www.e-ratepa.org<\/a> website under Helpful Documents.\u00a0 All previous versions of Windows or Excel can use the version available at http:\/\/usac.org\/_res\/documents\/sl\/xls\/window-hq\/Category-Two-Internal-Connections.<\/a>xlsm<\/a>.\u00a0 This older version will appear to work with Windows 20, or Excel 2013 and newer, but ultimately will not allow you to upload.<\/p>\n What Are the Basic Steps for Using the IC Bulk Upload Process?<\/strong><\/p>\n Applicants will create the off-line Template, validate for errors, then save when no errors are showing.\u00a0 Then they will create the Form 471 and funding request.\u00a0 At the FRN Line Item screen, click \u201cBulk Upload\u201d instead of Add FRN Line Item, and upload the Template. \u00a0EPC will then create a task within 1 minute with the Bulk Upload results.\u00a0 Applicants should review all of the FRN Line Item data that was imported to ensure it is accurate.\u00a0 All data can be revised at this point, or applicants can delete the FRN Line Item information, and upload a revised Template if they so choose.<\/p>\n Advantages to the Using IC Bulk Upload Template?<\/strong><\/p>\n Challenges to Using the IC Bulk Upload Template?<\/strong><\/p>\n What Information is Required on the Template?<\/strong><\/p>\n The Template has 3 tabs \u2013 Equipment\/Pricing Tab, Recipients of Service Tab and List of Errors Tab.\u00a0 The first two tabs must be completed with basically all of the same FRN Line Item Data that would be required on the Form 471 itself, and the third tab shows what errors have been founded in the data.\u00a0 Here is a list of what will be required:<\/p>\n The Bulk Upload process is very simple if your Template has been completed accurately.\u00a0 Follow the attached Guide and you shouldn\u2019t have any problems completing and validating the Template.\u00a0 If you have any questions, please don\u2019t hesitate to contact me!<\/p>\n — Julie<\/p>\n Julie Tritt Schell<\/p>\n jtschell@comcast.net<\/a><\/p>\n 717-730-7133 – o Penn*link<\/p>\n\n
