As we head into the FY 2018 funding season, I wanted to send a final \u201cwrap-up\u201d wave message for FY 2017.\u00a0 Future wave messages will be devoted to FY 2018 funding commitments, which are expected to begin in May.<\/p>\n

Since January 1, 2018, there have been four PA entities funded, committing $656,178 (see below and attached).\u00a0 There are very few funding requests that are still \u201cpending\u201d for FY 2017.<\/p>\n

In all, 1033 entities were funded for FY 2017, committing a total of $62,029,815 for both Category 1 and Category 2 requests. \u00a0Approx. $10 million less was approved in FY 2017 than FY 2016, of which most can be directly attributed to the phase out of voice services. \u00a0For the E-rate data junkies, a complete FY 2017 file is attached, containing every FRN, requested amounts, committed amounts, etc.\u00a0 If you REALLY want E-rate data, go to https:\/\/data.usac.org\/publicreports\/Forms\/Form471Detail\/Index<\/a> and use the \u201cCurrent\u201d Form Version to show data down to the FRN line item, recipients of service, C2 budget amounts, etc.<\/p>\n

Congratulations to everyone who successfully received funding in Funding Year 2017.\u00a0 I know E-rate isn\u2019t an easy process and I\u2019m immensely proud of the number of schools, libraries and consortia who remain committed to this program.\u00a0 Well done, PA E-raters!<\/p>\n
