The FCC and USAC have announced that\u00a0<\/strong>E-rate applicants that use the BEAR reimbursement system will be required to\u00a0have an active UEI in order to submit a new or revised Form 498 (banking form in EPC). \u00a0It\u2019s not as simple as it sounds; therefore, please review this message entirely and begin the process now so you will be ready when the requirement goes into effect.<\/p>\n

\n<\/strong>On May 12, 2023, the Form 498 will be updated to include a new field to collect the applicant\u2019s UEI number.\u00a0 Initially, the requirement will only\u00a0affect E-Rate applicants that submit a new or revised Form 498 (eventually, but with no date yet set, it will be required for all applicants using BEAR reimbursement invoicing method).\u00a0 In addition, USAC will only approve the new or revised Form 498 if all of the following criteria are met:<\/p>\n
