Happy Friday, E-raters!\u00a0 Next Thursday, June 27 at 3:00 p.m., USAC is hosting an initial webinar on the FCC\u2019s new $200 million Cybersecurity Pilot Program (CPP).\u00a0\u00a0Registration<\/a>\u00a0information is below.<\/p>\n

I will also be hosting a CPP webinar during the week of July 8 (details forthcoming). \u00a0Both webinars will contain basic information about the program, similar to what I sent to you in my\u00a0summary<\/a>\u00a0last week, but I\u2019m hoping to have even more details to share with you in a few weeks.\u00a0 If you attend the USAC webinar and still have questions, please e-mail them to me so I can seek answers before the PA-specific CPP webinar.<\/p>\n

USAC will host a Get Ready webinar for potential applicants for the Schools and Libraries Cybersecurity Pilot Program (Pilot Program) on Thursday, June 27 at 3 p.m. ET. The training will provide an overview of the Pilot Program and steps that potential applicants can take to prepare for the application window this fall and offer time for questions and answers.Register here<\/a>\u00a0to participate in Thursday\u2019s webinar.<\/p>\n

Pilot Program Overview<\/h3>\n

On June 11, 2024, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) released Order FCC 24-63 establishing the E-Rate Cybersecurity Pilot Program (Pilot Program). The Pilot Program is a three-year program that will provide up to $200 million in Universal Service Fund (USF) support to participating eligible schools and libraries to defray the costs of eligible cybersecurity services and equipment.<\/p>\n

The Pilot Program aims to address cybersecurity threats facing schools and libraries, including being targeted by malicious actors who seek to steal personal information, compromise online accounts, cause online harm or embarrassment, or otherwise disable\/disrupt critical networks that provide broadband connectivity.<\/p>\n

This fall, the FCC will open an application filing window for entities that are interested in participating in the Pilot Program. Potential applicants can join the\u00a0Get Ready Webinar<\/a>\u00a0to learn more about the Pilot Program and steps they can take to prepare for the application window.<\/p>\n
