In the initial rollout of the new EPC E-rate Portal, USAC did not set up Account Administrator accounts for generic email addresses (e.g., library.director@green.library.org<\/a><\/strong> or superintendent@redschooldistrict.edu<\/a><\/strong>). Their thinking was that because more than one person could potentially have access to such an account, they would not be able to determine which user was responsible for a particular action, such as certifying a form. \u00a0Also, someone other than the original user would not have accepted the terms and conditions associated with the use of EPC.\u00a0 By my count, about 40% of PA libraries did not receive initial EPC log-in e-mails for this reason.<\/p>\n However, after receiving feedback from the applicant community, USAC has modified their process. \u00a0Within the next two weeks, USAC will send applicants with generic e-mail addresses an Account Administrator e-mail invitation which signifies that their EPC account has been created in their system and that they may proceed with the initial log-in process (described here:\u00a0 https:\/\/e-ratepa.org\/?p=8331<\/a>).\u00a0 Please note that even though generic e-mail addresses now may be used as EPC log-ins, they still must be associated with a single individual.\u00a0 In fact, to affirm that the person using the e-mail address is still the same person, USAC may periodically require you to confirm your identify when you log-in.<\/p>\n If you have any questions related to EPC log-ins, please e-mail me at jtschell@comcast.net<\/a>.<\/p>\n — Julie<\/p>\n Julie Tritt Schell 717-730-7133 – o penn*link<\/p>\n\n
