{"id":8451,"date":"2015-08-06T19:23:57","date_gmt":"2015-08-06T19:23:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/e-ratepaorg.local\/?p=8451"},"modified":"2015-08-14T19:29:48","modified_gmt":"2015-08-14T19:29:48","slug":"e-rate-epc-portal-how-to-set-up-school-or-library-users-and-consultants","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/e-ratepa.org\/?p=8451","title":{"rendered":"E-rate EPC Portal &#8211; How to Set Up School or Library &#8220;Users&#8221; and Consultants"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>August 6, 2015<\/p>\n<p>The purpose of this message is to walk Account Administrators (the person who signed your FY 2015 Form 471) through the steps to set up School or Library Staff &#8220;Users&#8221; and\/or &#8220;Consultants&#8221; in their EPC accounts.\u00a0 (If you are the person who signed your Form 471 but have not yet received your initial EPC login e-mail<strong><em>, call USAC&#8217;s Client Service Bureau at 888-203-8100. Likewise, if that person is no longer with your school or library, contact CSB to change the name\/contact information of your Account Administrator)<\/em><\/strong>.\u00a0 Two step-by-step guides are attached to this message (<a href=\"https:\/\/e-ratepa.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/EPC-Applicant-Guide-Managing-Users.pdf\" class=\"mtli_attachment mtli_pdf\" target=\"_blank\">Setting Up Users<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/e-ratepa.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/Adding-a-Consulting-Firm-to-EPC.pdf\" class=\"mtli_attachment mtli_pdf\" target=\"_blank\">Adding Consultants<\/a>) and a short video tutorial is available at:\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.usac.org\/sl\/about\/outreach\/videos\/EPC-Creating-a-New-User.aspx\">http:\/\/www.usac.org\/sl\/about\/outreach\/videos\/EPC-Creating-a-New-User.aspx<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>&gt; Adding EPC District Users for Your Billed Entity (see below for instructions on adding Consultants)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>(Remember, only account administrator users can manage other users in their organization.)<\/p>\n<p>1)\u00a0 Go to your &#8220;Landing Page&#8221; (best way is to click on the USAC symbol on the top left) and click on Manage Users in the top right toolbar.<\/p>\n<p>2)\u00a0 Click the box beside the name of your Billed Entity.<\/p>\n<p>3)\u00a0 Click &#8220;Create a New User&#8221; to add School or Library employees as EPC Users.\u00a0 Complete the form with all of the relevant data<\/p>\n<p>4)\u00a0 At the bottom of the page, you will have to set up &#8220;user permissions&#8221; for each user.\u00a0 There are 3 types of Users:<\/p>\n<p>&#8212; Full Rights (can create\/submit\/certify applications)<\/p>\n<p>&#8212; Partial Rights (can create applications, but can&#8217;t hit submit\/certify)<\/p>\n<p>&#8212; View Only<\/p>\n<p>To apply the same permissions to all forms, use the <strong>Apply All <\/strong>drop-down menu.<\/p>\n<p>5)\u00a0 Click &#8220;Continue&#8221; and then &#8220;Submit&#8221; and then confirm again that you want to continue.<\/p>\n<p>6)\u00a0 The new User will receive an e-mail from EPC to go and set up their EPC account.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>&gt; Adding a Consulting Firm\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you use an E-rate consulting firm (even if it&#8217;s your IU), you must link your Billed Entity to that consulting organization, and THEN add individual consultant(s) within that consulting organization as EPC Users.\u00a0 And remember, only the Account Administrator can add a consulting firm and individual consultant users.\u00a0 Below are steps to completing both tasks:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>&gt;\u00a0 Linking a Consulting Firm to your Organization<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1)\u00a0 Log in to your EPC account (<a href=\"https:\/\/portal.usac.org\/suite\">https:\/\/portal.usac.org\/suite<\/a>).\u00a0 If this is the first time you&#8217;ve done it, don&#8217;t forget that your Username is your e-mail address.\u00a0 If you don&#8217;t remember your password or this is the first time logging in, click on &#8220;Forgot Password.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>2)\u00a0 From your &#8220;Landing Page&#8221; select your Billed Entity (not a school&#8217;s name, but your District&#8217;s name). You may have to scroll through the list.<\/p>\n<p>3)\u00a0 Click &#8220;Related Actions&#8221; on the left toolbar.<\/p>\n<p>4) \u00a0On the next page, choose &#8220;Manage Organization Relationships&#8221; (which is the 8th lightening bold in the list).<\/p>\n<p>5) \u00a0Select &#8220;Add a Consulting Firm&#8221; and enter as much information for your consulting firm as possible and click Search.
