USAC Seeks IT Enhancement Feedback

January 22, 2018

USAC has created a new web page – Share Your E-rate Technical System Ideas – for program participants to submit their ideas and feedback for improving and/or enhancing Schools and Libraries information systems.  Information submitted to USAC through the feedback form on this webpage should only pertain to proposed changes to the E-rate related information technology (IT) systems, and should not be used to submit comments on E-rate program rules or policy issues, or inquiries about specific applications.

To share your thoughts and ideas, go to https://goo.gl/aXm6YP, enter your name and email address, identify your role in the E-rate program, and describe your idea.  It would be helpful to be as descriptive as possible, citing the form, webpage, specific language that should be changed, whether you’re in EPC and if so, which module, etc.  When you are finished, click the SUBMIT button at the bottom of the page.

A good example of feedback already submitted (feel free to submit it again if you agree!): When USAC e-mails with Customer Service Case Updates, the subject line and body of those e-mails should include more identifying information about the Case, such as the Title that was submitted with the original Customer Service Case (in addition to the Case #) so applicants can easily know what the message is referring to.

The ideas could be minor or more substantive – USAC staff will review them all.  They may contact you via e-mail if they have questions or would like additional information about your submission.  All feedback will be used for internal purposes and will not be shared.

As you’re spending time on the USAC website, E-rate forms and in EPC over the next few months, I encourage you to keep notes about what improvements you’d like to see, and then submit them to USAC when you have time.  I view this request for input as a positive step for the program because it suggests the underlying IT systems are on solid ground and they are now seeking our assistance in taking these forms, outreach and systems to the next level.

Happy Commenting!
