Must-Do’s Before Starting Your Form 471

February 5, 2016

I’ve looked at the new Form 471 and although there are some quirks, it’s not too difficult to complete.  This is mostly due to the fact that so much of the data you previously input into the Form 471 now must be entered into your EPC Portal and individual EPC school profiles prior to starting your Form 471.  The system, then, will automatically port over that data into your Form 471.  And as you have probably realized by now, navigating through EPC is not easy or intuitive.  So before I begin to explain how to complete the Form 471, it’s important that you understand and have completed the following steps in your EPC Portal:

  • Ensuring All Schools and Admin Buildings are in your EPC Portal
  • Entering Enrollment and NSLP Data (in each school’s profile)
  • Entering Connectivity Data (both at the district and school building levels) – NEW MODULE RELEASED THIS WEEK
  • Entering Contract Data (for all contracts that you will cite on the 471) – NEW MODULE RELEASED THIS WEEK

I will be sending separate e-mails related to each one of these topics in the coming days.  If your school or library hasn’t yet logged into your EPC account, do it NOW!  If you haven’t posted your 470’s, do them NOW!
