E-rate Reform Training for PA Schools and Libraries

As you know, last week the FCC released their comprehensive E-rate Reform Order, detailing how the program will be entirely revamped beginning in FY 2015.  Every school and library’s Priority 1 E-rate funding will be affected, both in terms of what’s eligible and what your discount rate will be.  As a trade-off, all schools and libraries regardless of discount level, can expect to receive Priority 2 funding over the next five years for internal connections components, Wi-Fi and wiring.  There are many, many other changes as well.

There are several FREE webinars coming up in the next few weeks for PA schools, libraries and IUs and I encourage every school and library to attend one of these trainings. Because of the limited number of available seats, these webinars are reserved for PA school, library, and IU applicants only.

The webinar schedule is as follows:

Schools and Libraries:  Monday, August 4 from 1:00 – 3:30.
Intermediate Units:  Tuesday, August 5 from 1:00 – 3:00.
Schools and Libraries:  Monday, August 11 from 1:00 – 3:30.
Libraries:  Wednesday, August 27 from 1:00 – 3:30.

To access one of these webinars, go to:  vclass.cciu.org and look for “E-rate Reform” on the date of the training.  You can enter the webinar up to 30 minutes prior to the start time and because seating is limited, please enter early.  There is no pre-registration required but attendees are required to list their first and last name and school/library upon entering the webinar.  Anyone who does not enter their full name and school/library name will be removed from the webinar immediately.  Here is what you will see and what you must enter:
