Is Your EPC Entity Data Accurate?
January 11, 2021
Attached: Entity Report Jan 11 2021 – filtered
Over the last few weeks, several applicants have asked how they can easily determine what data exists in their organization’s EPC profile(s) so they know if anything should be updated by Wednesday, January 13, 2021. To make this step as easy as possible, I’ve downloaded the most recent PA entity database (accurate as of midnight last night), and narrowed, re-sorted and color-coded the fields. To find the entities that relate to your organization, use the filter function to narrow your search.
What is What?
- The columns in YELLOW relate to School Districts, Libraries, Library Systems, Library Consortia and other Consortia (otherwise known as “Parents”). Filter by Column A, and you will see information related to each of your “child entities” in EPC and their related information.
- If your entity is a stand-alone school, such as an AVTS or non-public school, that is not connected to a “parent entity” in EPC, you will be able to find your information by filtering Column E “Entity Name.”
- All data in the GREEN and ORANGE columns relate to building data, not ‘parent’ data.
What Data Should You Review?
1. Ensure that all of your buildings, including non-instructional facilities (NIFs), are listed. If any are missing or should be removed, you must contact USAC to have them perform that function. Call 888-203-8100 or use the Contact Us feature in EPC.
2. Ensure that the building addresses are accurate. Applicants can make these changes in EPC without USAC assistance.
3. Ensure that the EPC Account Administrator for your organization (Column D) is accurate. If not, contact USAC and request that the AA be changed.
4. School Enrollment/NSLP Data – Data in Columns M & N show what is currently listed in each school’s EPC profile. If you would like to update this information prior to January 13, refer to this Guide for assistance: https://e-ratepa.org/?p=32887. Don’t forget, schools can use this year or last year’s data and as a result, most school districts have chosen not to update this data for FY 2021.
5. Library Square Footage Data – Data in Column Q shows the total square footage of each library. If this information is inaccurate, applicants can update it prior to January 13 in EPC. Note: Library C2 budgets are based on square footage, so it’s important that this information is accurate. Square footage include both areas that are open and off-limits to the public.
Don’t forget, updating 1, 2, 4, or 5 must be done by Wednesday, January 13, 2021. EPC Account Administrator information can be updated at any time.
Please let me know if you have any questions!
Happy Updating!
