E-rate Beginners’ Training Scheduled

On behalf of the Pennsylvania Department of Education, I’m pleased to announce this year’s E-rate trainings for beginner applicants.  Typically, each fall we conduct several full-day trainings across the state for school and library officials that are new to the program but this year we’re going virtual and introducing a several other changes to make sure everyone has the best chance at success.  This year’s training details:

• There will be 3 virtual trainings, 2 geared for school applicants and 1 that will focus on library issues.  The trainings are scheduled during different days of the week and at different times to work with your busy schedules.  Dates/times/registration information is below.
• The trainings will be super condensed and will last approx. 2 – 2.5 hours.
• Training will be limited to true beginner applicants (with 1 year or less experience in E-rate).  For those E-rate junkies that like to attend beginners training because you never want to miss anything, this isn’t for you! : )  The “veterans” E-rate training for experienced E-rate applicants, along with other content-specific webinars, will be announced soon.
• Maximum capacity for each training will be 25 people.  The goal is to keep the training as informal and conversational as possible and I think this can only be accomplished with small groups.  If we have more demand than seats available, I’ll schedule another training.  If you register and can’t attend, please let me know instead of being a no-show so we can open up your seat to another applicant.

Prerequisite:  The only two prerequisites to attending beginners’ training are:  1) you be a true beginner, and 2) you become set up as a “User” in your school or library’s EPC account prior to training and have successfully logged into EPC. Only EPC your school or library’s  EPC Account Administrator can create a new User.  If you’re unsure who is your EPC AA or if they need assistance in creating a new User, contact USAC at 888-203-8100 for help with that process.
