E-rate Category 1 & Category 2 Webinars Scheduled

Next week there will be several webinars held to provide additional E-rate training for PA schools and libraries.  For those of you who are new to the program or who need a refresher on a particular topic, I encourage you to register and attend.  Please note that the two Category 2 trainings are being held – one for public schools and the other for nonpublic schools/libraries.  These trainings are conducted separately because public schools have much different C2 bidding requirements than nonpublic schools and libraries.

Category 1:  Eligible Services and Competitive Bidding  

    • Specifics:  In this session, we will review the E-rate competitive bidding rules related to Category 1 services (data transmission and Internet), and demonstrate how to file a Form 470 to begin the bidding process.

Category 2:  Eligible Equipment/Services and Competitive Bidding for Public Schools

    • Specifics:  In this session, we will review what’s eligible for C2 discounts, as well as the E-rate competitive bidding requirements and PA bidding requirements for Category 2 equipment and related services.  In addition, we will file a Category 2 Form 470, explain and demonstrate the PEPPM Mini-Bid bidding option, and review the additional C2 bidding requirements required for public schools.

Category 2:  Competitive Bidding for Non-Public Schools and Libraries

    • Specifics:  In this session, we will review what’s eligible for C2 discounts, as well as the E-rate competitive bidding requirements for Category 2 equipment and related services.  We will also demonstrate how to file a Category 2 Form 470.
