USAC Training on New E-rate Portal (EPC)

September 10, 2:00 – 3:00
In early July, USAC unveiled its new E-rate Portal (EPC) and every E-rate applicant, consortia, service provider and consultant must have an EPC account to participate in the E-rate program beginning with Funding Year 2016 (which includes the Form 470 posting this fall).  I am unable to see which PA entities have set-up their EPC accounts, but I suspect less than half of you have done so.  Therefore, I strongly encourage you to register for a special 1-hour USAC webinar on the portal which will discuss how to activate your account and log in, provide a walkthrough of the user interface, and explain how to assign permissions to other users in your organization.

A few EPC reminders:

1) Each Billed Entity (BEN) will have a, EPC account, and a single Account Administrator (AA).  Only the AA can set up the BEN’s EPC account.
2) Once the account is established, the AA can turn over AA rights to another individual, designate other users in the school or library to submit forms, designate consultants, etc.
3) If an IU also acts as a consortium, it must have 2 BENs — one for the IUs own services, and one for the consortium.
4) An e-mail address can only be used for a single BEN.  If you are a user or AA on two or more BENs, you must set up another e-mail account.
5) You cannot designate a consultant as a user.  Consultants must be set up through a separate process (see http://e-ratepa.org/?p=8451).

If you are unsure who your AA is, or whether an account has been set up for your BEN, or if you want to change your AA, call the Client Service Bureau at 888-203-8100.  They are very good at walking you through the steps to get you set up.

At the current time, there is no training or dummy site for me to perform my own live training.  As soon as I have that functionality, I will schedule additional webinars for PA applicants.
