FY 2016, Wave 30 E-rate Funding Commitments

January 28, 2017

* Note:  Beginning with this wave notice, I’m including a few extra columns of data that I think will be helpful:

FRN Status – shows if the FRN was funded, denied or cancelled.  If an FRN is denied, you have 60 calendar days to appeal to USAC and I encourage you to do so.  Please contact me if you would like to discuss an appeal.
Original Request – shows the original E-rate funding requested.
Difference – will show the difference in amount that you requested vs the amount you were awarded.  Often, if an FRN amount has been reduced, it’s done so at the request of the applicant.
471 Comment – usually explains if changes were made to an entire application (such as your discount rate).
FRN Comment – usually explains if changes were made to a funding request and if the FRN was denied or reduced, it should explain the reason why.

USAC has released FY 2016, Wave 30 E-rate funding commitments, which included 8 applicants, committing $1,697,382.  Wave 30 included 6 Category 2 FRNs, worth $194,346.  A list of the funded applicants is below and a more detailed analysis of this funding wave is attached.  If you are included on this list, the next step is to log into EPC to “generate” your FCDL (see helpful FCDL Guide at http://e-ratepa.org/?p=13411), then file the Form 486 in EPC (see Form 486 Guide at http://e-ratepa.org/?p=13591), and let your vendors know if you want discounted bills.  No paper FCDLs are being mailed for FY 2016.

If you were funded for Category 2, be sure to review the Category 2 E-rate Purchasing Guide http://e-ratepa.org/?p=13311 for information on purchase orders, asset inventories, equipment substitutions and equipment transfers, etc.

If you have not yet been funded, please be sure to respond promptly to the PIA inquiries as soon as you receive the e-mail notice (see helpful PIA Review Guide at http://e-ratepa.org/?p=13451) so you can ensure you’re in an upcoming wave.   A funding wave will be released each week until all applications have been processed.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me at jtschell@comcast.net.
